MARIA PARMENTER

Thank you for visiting my website. I am a visual artist living and working on the traditional lands of the Kaurna people in Adelaide, South Australia. I work expressively, painting predominantly landscapes, cloudscapes and seascapes. I  paint in acrylics and/or oils, in a gestural, semi abstract approach, using a soft colour palette.
My painted landscapes are inspired by the light, colour and forms of the Australian bushland, the forms and familiarity of eucalyptus and the light and memories they evoke.
I am lucky enough to live near the coast and am constantly aware of the ever changing nature of the sea and the coastal environment. I paint seascapes and cloudscapes, capturing a moment, a still memory in a changing evolution of light, colour and mystery that unfolds continuously.
